Harry, who is reading Law at Cambridge and a former Head Student, spoke to the Year 12 and 13 students who are considering Oxbridge/ Vet/Dentist/medic applications.
He spoke about personal statement writing, supra-curricula activities (things that you do to extend and deepen your knowledge of the curriculum) and interviews. He also offered specific guidance to our Law applicants concerning the LNAT (Law test), which they found highly informative and useful. They were able to ask questions and explore likely scenarios.
During the evening Harry spoke to Year 12 and their parents about the quality of support the school offered him in pursuing his dreams of academic life.
George Shaw, who is reading Chemistry at Oxford, spoke to Year 12 and 13 Oxbridge potentials. He covered the preparation, wider reading and the format of interviews. George then conducted a mock interview with one of our Year 13 Chemists explaining that being able to articulate one's thinking is vital, this was both gruelling (for the candidate) and enlightening for the audience.
Many thanks to both George and Harry for giving up their valuable time to support our students, it is much appreciated. We are delighted to say that all of our Oxbridge students are very willing to offer advice and mock interviews via Zoom.
Thomas Brian, Harry and George have all offered their time to our students who have been called for Interview, we are very grateful.
