Another visitor to campus this new academic year, has been Yuvaraj Parmar (Class of 2022)
After graduating with a First-Class degree in English and Media and serving as Consort to the Mayor of Leeds, Yuvaraj he has worked alongside The Economist as a Senior Delegate Acquisitionist while also expanding his talents into the world of broadcasting.
Known affectionately as Raj, he returned to TWGSB with unmistakable enthusiasm and needed little persuasion to join our campaign to reconnect former students. As a lifelong admirer of the written word, he revisited the English block and the library, reflecting on the profound influence of his teachers and discussing new ideas to support the school’s continued growth.
His energy and affection for TWGSB were unmistakable, leaving a strong impression on staff and students alike. It is little wonder he was awarded the Jed Grayson Award for his lasting commitment to the school community.
Yuvaraj welcomes all current and former students to connect with him and looks forward to playing an active role in our reinvigorated alumni initiative.
“It seems almost inconceivable that through the endless examinations and all that I absorbed whether in English, Chemistry, or even Spanish - what endures most vividly are not the theories or the lexicons, but the teachers themselves: those rare, defiant spirits who shattered convention and left an ever-fixed mark upon me. TWGSB instilled in me a work ethic of iron, a will unbending, and, above all, the character and conviction to endure every storm. For that, I remain endlessly grateful.”
