April 2025 sees Glen Stevens retiring from TWGSB, having joined the school in September 2002.
Glen had previously taught in Essex, Kent and North London. He came to Boys’ Grammar as a Design Technology (DT) teacher having given up leadership responsibilities in preference for full-time teaching.
During his time here, Glen assumed SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) responsibilities prior to becoming Head of the Design Technology Department.
On bidding farewell to the school, Glen shared:
‘What I have thoroughly enjoyed while working at TWGSB has been the wonderful relationship between students and staff which has made teaching and learning so much fun. Watching students develop their individualities and their skills in DT and then going on to use these in their professional lives has been very rewarding to see. However, most of all, I have enjoyed working with such dedicated colleagues who offer so much of their time and energy to the school.’
Although Glen admits he will miss the school very much, he counts himself fortunate to retire early and looks forward to enjoying his interests in early-morning swimming, woodwork, gardening and music.
Assuming the new Head of Department role as Glen leaves, is Ms Anna Bramham (pictured).
Anna came to Boys’ Grammar as a technician following lockdown where the design industry employing her, suffered significantly. Even from her TWGSB interview, her instinctive teaching potential was clearly evident.
After a year, she undertook teacher training whilst at the school, through Brighton University, and during her two years as an ECT, Anna showed her commitment to the principles of improving academic standards.
She has been developing her craft as a teacher now for over four years and has grown impressively in both confidence and stature.
TWGSB congratulates Anna on becoming the next Head of Department to guide Design Technology at our school.
